Angela Evelyn Bassett, an American actress, is known for her performance in films and on television since the mid 1980s. She has received various accolades like the Golden Globe Award as well as sixteen NAACP Image Award. In the TV and film business, she is famous for her awards and nominations. Bassett and her sister, at the age of five old, emigrated out of New York and into St. Petersburg to live with the mother of their divorced father. After graduating of Yale University New Haven Connecticut in 1980, with the Bachelor's degree of African American Studies, she continued to pursue the Master's degree (1983) at the Yale School of Drama. At Yale she came across Courtney B. Vance a co-actor and they were married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. graduated from the Yale School of Drama School with a master's of African American studies in the year 1980.
